Wendell
F. Stokes, Jr. lives with his
wife, dogs and one emu on a cattle farm in Kemper County,
Mississippi.
Born and raised in south Alabama, he has lived in Atlanta, Montgomery,
Lafayette and Huntsville. His working career began as a teacher
and
coach but later he returned to college for an engineering degree.
He
has worked as a project engineer, staff engineer, Director of Public
Works for the City of Huntsville, Alabama and currently serves as
Director of Public Works for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw
Indians.
During the early 80s he served a short stint in the oil patch as a
cased hole engineer. Publishing credits include Back Porch
Magazine, Southern Owned and
Southern
Operated Magazine, The
Huntsville Times
and The Meridian Star.
He enjoys writing and has compiled a
collection
of short stories about growing up and living in the South which he
plans to publish one day.
