Dr. John's Gumbo is a Music CD with the essential Mardi Gras music on it, played by Dr. John (aka Mac Rebennack; aka Malcom John Rebennack). You can listen to samples of the music at Amazon.

The album pretty well speaks for itself.

Dr. John is quite modest. I’ve heard an interview with him in which he said that he can’t really play the guitar, since his finger was shot off. Apparently this mishap has not adversely affected his piano playing.
