authors of
all poetry selected for publication in
Spillway Review will be considered for the position of Spillway Review
Poet in Residence. There is no need to apply.
However, you may submit one or two paragraphs about the importance of
poetry, what constitutes good poetry, and/or recommended poetry, and
the editors will consider this in the selection process. June 29, 2004, by James Bolner, Sr. Many thanks to our first Poet in Residence, Barry Dunlap, of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, who held the post from May to July, 2004. The May - July 2004 Spillway Review Poet in Residence received an autographed copy of a work by Billy Collins, Poet Laureate of the United States, 2001-2003. The August - October 2004 Spillway Review Poet in Residence is Diane E. Dees, of St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. The August - October Poet in Residence will receive the The Best Cigarette, an audio CD of Billy Collins, poet laureate of the United States, 2001-2003, reading his own poems. Consideration is already underway for the selection of the November - January Spillway Review Poet in Residence. |
